Police ID 3 teens killed in Lawncrest

Police have identified the three murder victims in Friday afternoon’s quadruple shooting on the 5900 block of Palmetto St. in Lawncrest.

At 3:36 p.m., police officers responded to a radio call for a “person with gun, report of a shooting.” Upon arrival, police found one victim on the sidewalk, a second on the front porch and a third just inside the doorway of a residence. All three males were pronounced deceased by fire department medics.

A 16-year-old male was taken by a private vehicle to Jefferson Frankford Hospital suffering from a gunshot wound to the stomach.

A short time later, police located a Black Ford Edge believed to be involved in the shooting on the 500 block of E. Wyoming Ave. in Feltonville. Two males, ages 15 and 16, have been arrested, while homicide detectives continue to investigate.

The murder victims were identified as Malik Ballard, 17, of the 5200 block of Castor Ave.; Khalif Frezghi, 18, of the 100 block of E. Pleasant St. in Mount Airy; and Salah Fleming, 14, of the 2000 block of W. Montgomery Ave.
